The name of this truffle derives from the hook-shaped spores. Uncinato truffle is very similar to the Summer Truffle so much that somebody classifies it as one of the Aestivum varieties. The peridium is warty and with black colour. It has a darker gleba than Summer Truffle and several strongly marked white veins. The smell is pleasant and intense.
